Going Green - Soda Can Daisy
The last Tuesday of the month I have a program at the Library called Going Green. Today we made soda can flowers using the Daisies #2 die and the Summer Smooches fabric covered brads (which are only available while supplies last and will be totally gone by April 30th. I actually have two more packages of these ordered, I think they are adorable and will miss them when they are gone.
Tools: The Big Shot (113439) Flower, Daisies #2 bigz die (114520) Crop-a-dile (108362) Bone Folder (102300) 1-3/8" circle punch (119860)
Adorable details: Summer Smooches fabric covered brads (125589)
Other: Box cutter to make preliminary cut in the can and some cheap scissors to cut the soda cans apart. I did not want to use my good scissors, though I have been told that Stampin' Up's scissors will go throught the aluminum like butter, I just didn't want to take the risk. Hot glue gun, card board and a pin back.
Punch a 1-3/8" circle out of the card board. Assemble the flower just as you would if it were paper. Put the brad through and adjust the petals, apply a good dollop of hot glue to the card board cirlce and place the flower on the glue. Glue a pin back to the card board and sport your lovely new green flower pin.
