Winter Library Display

 

For the winter display at the library I created a banner with a the slogan of Tis the Season to be Reading. I attached it to ribbon and add the circles punched out of scrapbook paper. I folded them over the ribbon and secured them in place to create the scallops. I used painters tape to attach blue and white circles on the background to cover up spots where the paint had been damaged from previous displays. I attached the banner to the 

The trees are built on cones either paper mâché or Styrofoam and then wrapped in yarn, wool or ribbon. The largest one I made the cone from poster board and then overed it with felted wool.

Some of the trees sit flat on the shelf others made from the hollow cones have a vintage wood spool for a trunk. I love how they turned out. 

I also used some random items for trunks like the one above which is a small burl wood bowl that I bought at a craft fair and the one below that sits on a wood pillar candle stick.
