Going Green ~ Scissor Keeps

Today I am sharing a pair of scissor keeps that I created from felted wool. I love exploring thrift stores and finding wonderful wool clothing to repurpose. The plaid material is from a wool skirt and the pink is from a sweater. Both were felted in a hot water wash with laundry soap and then dryed on hot to get them to shrink up nice and tight. I was then to used the dresden designs and fun flowers dies and ran them through the big shot to cut out my shapes. Two pieces of each size was cut to make the keep. They were blanket stitched together using pink embroidery floss. The cute flap on the front was made by stoping the stitching at the beginning of the rounded top of the dresden design. A fun flower was cut in two to layer under the flap and a vintage faced button was stitched on with floss to hold it all in place. Isn't this a super cute was to keep track of you scissors?
